A one-and-a-half-year-old girl drank a substance from a charcoal burner today (Monday) and was taken seriously to the hospital.
The baby spent time with her parents at Sycamore Beach in Rinkei in the Sea of Galilee and drank the toxic substance.
MDA medics and paramedics were called to the scene, resuscitated her and evacuated her to Furia Hospital in Tiberias while she was sedated and breathing.
MDA paramedic, Ofri Aloni, who was called to the scene along with his team, said that when they arrived at the scene they saw the baby "coughing and conscious".
He continued, "We performed medical tests and began evacuating her to the hospital. During the trip, the baby's condition deteriorated, we anesthetized and ventilated her, and evacuated her to the hospital in critical condition."

An organization before child safety informed that in the last decade (2011-2021) 12 children died as a result of poisoning.
Orly Silvinger, the organization's CEO, said, "Especially in these days of the holiday, we see an increase in children being injured in various accidents.
The children are curious and tend to explore their surroundings." She urged the parents, "Don't trust in miracles - when you go on vacation with the children it is important to determine at any given moment an adult on duty whose job it is to watch over the children within touching distance and without distractions.
Keep toxic and flammable materials out of reach of children.
It is the responsibility of all of us to prevent the next disaster."
