A pregnant Florida woman recounted her experience after being pulled over by a sheriff's deputy who drew his gun and told her to "shut up" during what appeared to be a routine traffic stop.

The deputy involved in the incident has resigned, according to a statement from the Bradford County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office released video showing Ebony Washington being pulled over by a Bradford County Sheriff's Office officer late last week after he was suspected of driving 75 mph in a 50 mph zone. km/h, according to WJXT.

The sheriff's office later identified the deputy as Jacob DeSue.

In the video, DeSue can be seen pulling the gun on him and telling Washington to shut up.

In body camera footage obtained by CNN affiliate WJXT, Washington is heard telling the officer that she is four months pregnant.

Washington, who told WJXT he was speeding and was traveling with his children, said he wanted to get to a well-lit area before stopping.

Washington said he didn't know DeSue had a gun until he told him to get out of the car and she told him she had her seat belt on, and he responded by saying she had her gun, according to WJXT.

"I felt awkward, I didn't want to not have anyone else around," Washington told WJXT.

In dashcam video provided to CNN by the sheriff's office, DeSue can be seen chasing Washington for about four minutes.

Washington puts on her hazard lights not long after the sheriff's deputy approaches her with her flashing lights.

Finally, Washington pulls into a gas station parking lot, where she gets out of her car with her hands raised to her sides, signaling that she was unarmed.

The sheriff's officer walks up to her and puts her handcuffs on her.

CCTV footage shows the two walking away from DeSue's vehicle.

In body camera footage obtained by WJXT, Washington can be heard explaining to the sheriff's deputy why he hadn't stopped sooner.

"I'm a married, educated woman with a master's degree," Washington is heard saying.

"I have four... three children with me," she added.

DeSue then yelled, "Shut up!"

DeSue appears to pause, then says, "I don't care why, just shut up... why."

An agent can then be seen looking inside Washington's car.

About six minutes later, an agent can be seen escorting Washington back to his car.

Washington received a ticket for speeding, according to WJXT.

CNN has reached out to DeSue for comment.

Bradford County Sheriff Gordon Smith released a statement saying, "I am shocked and disheartened by how Jacob DeSue handled the Ebony Washington traffic stop. [She] responded in a totally understandable manner in this circumstance."

"Jacob DeSue should have de-escalated the situation but disappointingly was unable to respond appropriately," the statement said.

"I have already accepted the resignation of Jacob DeSue while the internal investigation into his conduct continues. I want to assure our community that I will hold the men and women of the Sheriff's Office accountable to the highest standards of our profession."
