During a panel discussion entitled “Modern Laser Engraving Arts” presented by Addas during his participation in the second day of the exhibition of heritage and traditional handicrafts held by the Dummar Central Incubator for Craft Arts in cooperation with the Directorate of Culture in Damascus at the Arab Cultural Center in Abu Rummaneh, he reviewed the importance of the history of the craft and its development in the hands of the craftsman over time Up to using the latest technology in it.

Addas pointed out the importance of cooperation between all craftsmen in exchanging ideas and presenting proposals to work together as one team and exchange experiences, which allows them to invent new crafts by merging two or more crafts, which constitutes for them a marketing and creative added value that makes their names bright and their products competitive and strongly in exhibitions and markets. local and global.

Addas explained the importance of encouraging the education of all handicrafts for the younger generations and providing them with full support by intensifying and increasing the number of training courses to encourage the continuation and development of such crafts and to preserve them from extinction and to bring their products to global markets in large quantities, to teach them standards and methods of occupational safety and how to maintain used machines. Marketing products and managing craft facilities, pointing to the importance of networking and cooperating with educational institutions in order to give handicrafts their right to spread and provide the opportunity to learn them for a large segment of those who wish to do so, as coordination is made with Al-Sham Private University on this matter.

The pavilion occupied by Sheikh Karen engravers contains a group of figures, boxes, wooden and copper dishes engraved with laser, geometric and vegetal motifs, and paintings with phrases written in Arabic calligraphy.

The exhibition, which will continue until next Thursday, includes a range of products for the Kar sheikhs, such as Phoenician glass, copper and plastic arts, cutting arts, laser engraving, oriental chandeliers, downloading seashells on wood, essential oils and musical instruments.
