Brazilian midfielder Casemiro wept on Monday in his emotional farewell to Real Madrid, after a nine-year spell at the trophy-laden LaLiga club.
"When I got here I didn't know anyone. We were going to a new country. To a new club. We've built our lives here," said the now Manchester United player as tears rolled down his cheeks.
"The last year was even more magical with that Champions League. I had that feeling in my head too"
"It's easy to play with people like Kroos or Modric, they give you less work because they have all the merits. They have all given me incredible nights," added the 30-year-old, who won three soccer leagues, a Copa del Rey and five Champions League, among many other awards.

An emotional Real Madrid president, Florentino Pérez, praised Casemiro for everything he has done at the club.

"You have always been exemplary. You have earned the right to decide your future and we have to respect it," Pérez said.
"Now you are going to Manchester United, a friendly and legendary club. Wherever you want to be, you will always be the image and ambassador of Real Madrid."
"You will always be a legend and you will be one of us. We have lived a wonderful story together. Thank you, dear 'Case', you know how much we love you. Thank you for helping us make Real Madrid bigger," Pérez added.

Real Madrid and Manchester United confirmed on Friday that they had reached an agreement for the transfer of Casemiro.
British media said Manchester United had closed a deal worth up to 70 million euros ($70.06 million).
"Now I'm looking for new goals and new challenges. I want a different league, a new culture. No one is going to change history, but at Manchester United I haven't won anything. I want to go with new players for new goals in my life. I am very excited about it," added Casemiro.
Casemiro is expected to be introduced to United fans on Monday when they host Liverpool at Old Trafford.
Manchester United requested their first two games of the season.
