The number 262 bus from Neufinsing to Riem will run more frequently in the future.

The municipality of Finsing digs deeper into their pockets for this, while Neuching does not.

Finsing/Neuching

– Since the timetable change in December 2019, you can take the 262 regional bus from Finsing to the Messestadt Ost subway station in Munich-Riem – in 40 minutes.

Starting in Neufinsing at the commercial area, it goes via Neufinsing/Rathaus and Finsing/Maibaum to Gelting, Pliening, Landsham, Kirchheim, Heimstetten (S-Bahn) and Feldkirchen to Messestadt Ost (underground).

This line is now to be extended.

By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Erding newsletter.

It started at the beginning of the corona pandemic, Mayor Max Kressirer (WGE) explained in the municipal council, and is being accepted more and more - as an alternative to the S-Bahn to Munich.

Gertrud Eichinger (SPD) also confirmed this: "I know of some who like to take the S-Bahn to Heimstetten and then take the bus to Finsing instead of using the S-Bahn to Markt Schwaben." Because of the great success the municipalities of Pliening in the district of Ebersberg and Kirchheim near Munich have now expressed their desire to extend the line.

Bus line 262: In future it will run every hour throughout the day

The first bus currently starts Monday to Friday at 5:34 a.m. from Neufinsing/Rathaus, after which it departs from the commercial area at 6:12 a.m., 7:12 a.m. and 8:12 a.m. and again every hour from 4:12 p.m. to 7:12 p.m.

From Messestadt Ost to Neufinsing, it runs every hour between 6:08 a.m. and 9:08 a.m., then again from 3:08 p.m. to 7:08 p.m.

Now the bus is scheduled to run every hour throughout the day.

"The question is whether we want to spend the money on it," summarized Kressirer.

Finsing is currently paying 15,000 euros, and for Neuching the plan was for the municipality to contribute 5,000 euros per year from 2022.

This agreement was concluded with a term of five years.

There were two options for financing the frequency increase: with a one-hour frequency from Monday to Saturday, the additional costs would amount to an estimated 40,000 to 55,000 euros per year.

Version 2 provided for compression only from Monday to Friday, with an estimated additional cost of 25,000 to 40,000 euros per year.

The distribution is complicated: the district pays 70 percent, the municipalities of Finsing and Neuching together pay 30 percent, in a ratio of 75 (Finsing) to 25 percent (Neuching).

According to the template, implementation of one of these two variants is planned for mid-2023.

"It's hard for me to say no," Kressirer admitted to the compression of the beat.

Bernhard Faschinger (independent) was more euphoric and said: "Well, I think it's great!" The rest of the committee saw it the same way: it was decided to pay for the increase in frequency during the week.

At the same time, a request for approval to the Neuchinger committee was formulated.

The municipality of Neuching is hardly touched by the line

Shortly after the council meeting in Finsing, the question arose as to whether the community of Neuching should really contribute to the additional costs for a bus line that actually brings them little.

Because route 262 does not run directly through the Neuchinger area.

Only the Lüßwiesen commercial area is connected to the terminus in the directly adjacent Neufinsing commercial area.

Before the speeches, Neuching's Mayor Thomas Bartl (CSU) said: "Because we only affect one stop, we don't actually need the frequency increase.

But public transport is supposed to be strengthened, so our approval would be a nice gesture for the others.”

Christian Steiner (WGN) didn't get anything out of it: "Only a few people from Neuchingen ride at the bus stop, so we don't benefit from an increase in frequency." Martin Bichlmaier (SPD) also argued against approval: "We pay a lot for something anyway, that brings us little.

The compression of the clock is not interesting for Neuching.” Bichlmaier emphasized that the municipality must look at the money and added: “We don’t need to have a bad conscience if we vote against it.” The other committee members took a similar view and voted unanimously against participation at the additional costs.
