Currency exchange trick: thief fishes debit card from purse of a 61-year-old

"Money changing" crooks are on the move again in Holzkirchen: On Saturday (August 20) a thief fished the EC card out of the purse of a 61-year-old woman in the Aldi car park.

- The unknown was so skillful that the robbed did not even notice the theft at first.

With the "money changing trick", a thief grabbed the EC card of a 61-year-old woman from Holzkirchen on Saturday (20 August) in the Aldi car park in Holzkirchen.

According to the police, the victim, a 61-year-old woman from Holzkirchner, was approached by a previously unknown woman on Saturday morning and asked if she could change a two-euro coin for her.

When the victim handed the small change to the unknown, she used the handover of the coin and pulled the debit card from the woman from Holzkirchner.

The missing card was noticed a short time later at the Aldi checkout when the 61-year-old wanted to pay.

The unknown perpetrator is described as about 1.65 meters tall and about 25 years old.

She was dressed in a bluish Carmen blouse with short sleeves and a pattern, she wore extremely long, wavy hair.

Who can provide information about the still unknown woman?

Perhaps other customers were approached in the Aldi car park or in front of other discounters?

The Holzkirchen Police Inspectorate will receive relevant information about the incident on 08024 / 90740.

With the "money exchange" scam, strangers have had success again and again, most recently in Holzkirchen.

In February 2022, a pickpocket approached a 73-year-old from Holzkirchner on the Holzkirchner market square, also asking him to change a two-euro coin.

The pensioner was helpful and opened his wallet.

The thief skilfully grabbed several bills, a total of a low three-digit amount.

It is possible that the same perpetrator was already successful in November 2021, also in the center of town, with the "money changing" trick.

At that time, a victim who had previously withdrawn cash was specifically addressed.
