A drowning accident occurred in Deep Water Bay, Southern District of Hong Kong Island.
At about 5 in the morning, there were swimmers at Deep Water Bay Beach. A middle-aged woman was found unconscious in the middle of the water and was suspected of drowning. Since it was not yet the time for lifeguards to be on duty, the swimmer returned to the shore and went to the beach. Together with another swimmer, they took the lifebuoy and dropped it for rescue; other people present reported to the police for help.
The woman, who is known to be wearing a swimsuit, was found between floating platforms 2 and 3.
However, after the woman was rescued and landed, she remained unresponsive, and ambulancemen arrived at the scene to take over the first aid, but it was finally confirmed that she died on the spot.
The police are investigating the incident. As for the two swimmers who rescued people, they have left the scene after the incident. The police are looking for them to assist in the investigation. It is known that they are about 40 to 50 years old and often swim at the site.
