He stole the manhole covers that he threw off the bridge from an industrial area in Harsum (district of Hildesheim).

The police arrested a suspect after the incident on the A7 in which a manhole cover was thrown onto a car and two people were injured.

Hildesheim – A 52-year-old driver was seriously injured, his 43-year-old passenger was life-threateningly injured after a manhole cover suddenly hit her windshield on Saturday night.
Unknown people had thrown him off a bridge onto Autobahn 7 near Hildesheim.
The second manhole cover landed in the oncoming lane and damaged at least four vehicles there.
Both lanes of the A7 are completely blocked between Hildesheim-Drispenstedt and the Hannover-Süd motorway junction.
The police are investigating.
