The Argentine Prosecutor's Office requested 12 years in prison against Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, whom they accuse of being the head of a fraudulent administration that committed acts of corruption in public works.
President Alberto Fernández reiterated his support for the vice president in a tweet and described the case as "judicial and media persecution."
The vice president has denied the accusations.
