Damascus, SANA- The Gardenia Coral, led by Maestro Ghada Harb, took to the stage of the Opera House this evening to present my evening.

Coral Gardenia, led by Maestro Ghada Harb, took to the stage of the Opera House this evening to present a musical evening that lit up the night of his audience, which included international variety in different languages.

Stars and Lights is the title of the evening, which was linked to the famous and well-known media program Mona Kurdi on Syrian TV, where Harb and her choir went out of the ordinary within an hour to bring back the musical memory of the audience to different past decades with their musical styles.

The choir presented a bouquet of the most famous and most beautiful songs, after which the theater received warm applause from the audience, as the evening opened with the masterpiece of Elias Rahbani “Lisa”, followed by a piece by the British band “B Jess”, after which the choir presented the song “I Will Survive” by the international singer “Gloria Jenor”.

The evening included several songs by famous international groups that were popular in the seventies and eighties of the last century, such as the rock and pop group “Modern Talking”, the famous Swedish band “ABBA”, the pop and disco group “Bonnie M” and the “Jackson 5” band, in addition to singles by several singers who rose to prominence in the past decades. Singer "Barry Manilow" and singer "Irene Cara", and the choir concludes the evening with the song "Falls Foo".

Safana Baqla, Hadi Al-Khayat, Heba Fahem and Yasmine Mohamed participated in the musical arrangement of the musical pieces performed by the choir.

In a statement to SANA's reporter, Maestro Harb indicated that she chose the program to remind the old songs, given that the music of the seventies and eighties of the last century caused a qualitative change, whether in the way of rhythm, method of presentation and different styles.

She indicated that the members of Coral Gardenia wanted to challenge themselves by choosing a bouquet of songs in English for international teams and in a very fast language, noting that these songs are still present in the memory.

Speaking about the evening’s name, Maestro Harb explained that the name was chosen after the program “Nojoom wa Al-Adwaa’” which introduced Syrians to songs from different cultures and musical styles, indicating that the preparations lasted for two months and on a daily basis, as work was done on assembling songs, redistributing the pieces, dismantling and preserving notes, in addition to preparing dances. And the movement, with the presence of a loving staff, contributors and supporters, such as the Ministry of Culture and Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts.
