The teachers' union and the Ministry of Finance hold meeting after meeting, but are unable to reach agreements.

In the meantime, the threat of the strike is approaching and leaves the parents hanging in the air towards September 1st.

In a conversation with Walla, parents from all over the country testify to their support for raising teachers' salaries, and expressed hope that the school year will start smoothly.

Rafi Levy from Herzliya, father of a nine-year-old girl, a five-year-old boy and a baby between the ages of two, said that "in a strike, the main victims are the children. Even so, we have gone through three difficult years that will accompany some of the children for a long time to come."

Levy, who serves as chairman of the parents' committee of kindergarten children in the settlement, expressed support for improving the conditions of teachers. "I am in favor of fundamentally changing the education system in the country, but at the same time the educators deserve more and they should be rewarded as every important population in the economy is rewarded," he said.

"Can't be on the backs of the children and parents."

Levy continued, "As a representative of the leadership of the parents, I see the children and the damage to them, which started even before September 1 when the teachers received instructions not to conduct the evaluation days. For me, this is very serious, especially for kindergarteners and those entering the first grade, and a double and multiple damage to special education, which is taboo In my eyes."

When asked what he had to say to the politicians, he replied, "Let them treat education just like security. Let them stop playing politics for a moment and reward the education system properly, and above all, let them re-plan for almost the largest budget."

He read, "When you take care of the future generation, you only talk about education."

Hagit Ratzavi, mother of three and chairman of the parents' committee of the agricultural school in Pardes Hana, also called for a solution to the crisis. "Go into a room with windows and no doors, do what needs to be done there and leave with decisions already," she said. "We, the parents , understand that everyone represents their own interests and that everyone has good intentions for the public they represent, but it cannot in any way be every year anew just before the start of the school year on the backs of the children and parents."

According to her, the parents have already developed indifference to the parents' struggle over the years.

"The teachers have lost a little empathy in this struggle," she claimed, "and beyond that, the parents are busy every day, after three years of Corona. In the end, the education system is not a stable system these days and the school administrators and the authorities are busy recruiting the best people to meet the needs. There is no room to introduce more noise into a system that actually needs strengthening from all of us these days. We have no doubt that the quality of teachers depends on their salary and conditions, and on the other hand, we do not get the impression that the Minister of Finance is not aware of this," she said.

Shiran Elmaleh, a mother of four restrained children, also called for teachers' salaries to be raised and expressed her frustration with the situation.

"We the parents are captives, we have nothing to say, no one treats us," she said.

"We need to raise the salaries of all teachers, both veterans and young ones, we need to solve this and quickly, we should come to agreements with the teachers so that we don't go back to this all over again."

On the other hand, the speaker of Alxalsi, the mother of a girl who enters the first grade in Kfar Yona, thinks that "the strike will be completely justified and I am completely on the side of the kindergarteners and teachers."

She even calls for worsening the teachers' actions.

"This should be a real strike and not an hour here and an hour there like it was last time. Their wages and their conditions should improve. What is going on in the education system is getting worse. I would not be willing to replace them. My daughter is starting first grade, I think this is a significant moment, But the teachers' conditions are just as important."
