Kretschmann did not name a specific number of showers per week, but advised a more conscious approach.
"The washcloth is also a useful invention," said Kretschmann.
Saving energy: The Left criticizes the Greens' "washcloth performance".
The Left Party promptly criticized these statements.
Jan Korte, parliamentary director of the left-wing faction, spoke of "cynical energy saving tips" and "infinitely outlandish best practice examples from green prime ministers".
Korte attacked the Greens directly in a press release.
"They didn't even manage to get the 9-euro ticket extended with their flimsy performance in the federal government, but they throw out one smartass tip after the other." People now needed security for the winter.
"The federal government must ensure that now, and quickly."
In the recent past, there have always been appeals from the Greens to the population to limit themselves when showering and bathing.

Kretschmann's austerity measures: electric car, solar and "air up"
Prime Minister Kretschmann also sees himself well positioned in terms of savings.
He is on the right track as an energy saver.
“I have an electric car, I have a huge photovoltaic system on the roof.” He has been heating 70 percent of his water with solar energy for 25 years, and he has also ordered a pellet heating system.
Kretschmann's tip: "We usually only heat one room." However, the Green politician has identified a weak point in himself: "I still have room for improvement when it comes to reducing meat consumption."
