Wiesn usury: dubious reservation offers on the net - "high risk that entry will be refused"

If you want to secure a table at the Oktoberfest in advance, you should take a close look.
The consumer center warns of usury deals on the net.
Munich – Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) wants to officially open the Oktoberfest in less than four weeks.
Even if a current survey suggests that many Munich residents are still stepping on the brakes on euphoria: table reservations in the festival tents are in great demand again this year.
The Bavarian Consumer Center explicitly warns against dubious offers.
"The high demand is exploited and reservations are resold at horrendous prices over the Internet," says a press release.

At the beginning of July, the Munich Higher Regional Court rated the business practices of an event agency as misleading.
Many Wiesn hosts reserve the right in their general terms and conditions to only let visitors into the tent who have booked tables directly with them.
In the case before the court, the online agency offered Oktoberfest tables in the Ochsenbraterei for 1,990 to 3,299 euros.
The tent operator himself was charged a maximum of 400 euros for a table with ten people.

Furthermore, there are plenty of dubious reservation offers at extortionate prices on the net.
"In order to really get access to the marquee with a valid table reservation, interested parties should only book their reservations via the marquee's website," advises Tatjana Halm, a lawyer at the Bavarian Consumer Advice Center.
She advises against buying on ticket exchanges: "The risk is high that entry into the tent will be refused despite expensive reservations".
