Against the background of the many accidents on Yosh roads, today (Tuesday) the Binyamin Council started a fight to tighten enforcement. As part of the cooperation, orders were issued that tighten enforcement and give the police tools for the immediate arrest of serial road offenders and even the immediate confiscation and detention of vehicles. Among other things, the new amendment allows the police to confiscate the vehicle if there are unpaid fines owed to the owner or the spouse of the owner.
In addition, the police may confiscate a driver's vehicle if he or his spouse has unpaid traffic fines, even if the vehicle is not owned by them.
On top of that, the offense of disobeying a red light and other offenses such as turning a U-turn that caused another vehicle to swerve or endanger a pedestrian.
