Gas, electricity, water - the whole world is talking about saving energy.

The topic has long since arrived in the district.

But what concrete measures are planned in the municipalities to save resources?

Erding - From the Dorfen town hall it is said that saving energy has been an issue in the city for some time.

Dorfen has been offering free energy advice, advice on saving electricity and an investment subsidy for energy-related refurbishment since 2009.

On July 1st of this year, the support program was replaced: by an expanded range of energy advice from the Bavarian consumer advice center and a changed range of support for energy-related renovation using renewable raw materials.

"There have long been flyers that explain the various ways to save energy," reports spokeswoman Marion Biewer.

Anyone who wants to find out more about the topic can do so on the city's website.

A survey is currently being conducted among employees as to how more energy can be saved in administration.

The printer settings were changed to duplex printing some time ago, meaning both sides of a piece of paper are printed, and the city provides company bikes to avoid unnecessary trips with the company car, says Biewer.

And according to a decision by the environment, nature and climate committee, the consumption data of the municipal buildings are collected annually in order to be able to counteract undesirable developments.

In addition, an energy use plan is currently being drawn up for the city, i.e. an overall concept that should serve as the basis for measures to save energy, energy efficiency and switch to renewable energies.

In Oberding, too, the topic has been on the agenda for a long time.

In 2010, construction of a heating network began there.

"So far, this has more than proven itself," says Josef Steinkirchner, manager of the administrative community (VG).

However, he had to note that he "received little support from politicians".

That, for example, a funding program for heating networks had been announced for a long time, but this is not coming.

Or that the BEG funding was discontinued at short notice.

"You're pretty much up in the air," explains Steinkirchner.

"Basically, you simply have no planning security because the legal basis is missing."

In Eitting, too, the construction of the heating network is under discussion, Steinkirchner continues.

The problem of the lack of planning security is stored there but similar.

Both in Eitting and in Oberding, VG is in the process of bringing its buildings into a good energy condition.

Newer buildings, such as the school, are built in such a way that energy consumption is sensible.

"Energy saving is lived here," explains Steinkirchner.

No current extra measures are planned: "We did our homework ten years ago."

Moosinning is currently examining which buildings could be fitted with photovoltaic systems.

"But it's all just beginning," explains Managing Director Silvia Hermannsdorfer.

A working group had been formed and the community was recording data.

"But we don't have a swimming pool or anything like that where stronger measures would make sense," Hermannsdorfer continued.

An energy forum on the subject is planned in Taufkirchen after the summer break.

"The subject area is so complex, and the measures taken by the municipality of Taufkirchen must first be coordinated in detail with the affected authorities," says the town hall.

Concrete measures or plans could therefore not yet be mentioned.

The situation is different in the VG Wartenberg: concrete measures have already been implemented there.

In summer there is no longer any hot water in the town hall, says Josef Straßer, Mayor of Langenpreising: "Everyone has to wash their hands cold." Local heating can be connected.

In addition, it will be checked whether the church needs to be illuminated at night.

"We can't dictate anything to people," says Straßer.

But you can talk to them.

"We're not inventing anything new here," said the mayor.

"We're just trying to save."

The holiday committee of the Erdinger city council will determine measures to save energy today, Tuesday.

The first steps have already been taken, such as lowering the water temperature in the outdoor pool.

The meeting begins at 5:45 p.m. at City Hall.
