The facts took place on Friday August 5, 2022, around 9:30 p.m.
Two children - a 7-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy - were knocked down rue des Hauts-de-Marcouville in Pontoise by a dark-colored motocross.

"The driver then fled, and became a prisoner the next day, while individuals taking advantage of the excitement aroused by the accident made the motorcycle in question disappear", specifies the Departmental Directorate of Public Security ( DDSP 95) in its press release.

Investigators are also looking for people who witnessed the accident and who can relate specific facts or who filmed the scene before or after.
The 18-year-old defendant was indicted on the count of "involuntary injuries resulting in total incapacity for work for more than three months" aggravated by two circumstances: the hit-and-run offense and the breach of the obligations of security on August 8.
He was taken into custody.
The little girl is now out of the coma.
Her lawyer Me Raphaël Cabral told BFMTV, Monday August 22, that she was even released from the hospital and did not seem to have any physical consequences.
His mother had announced, a few days earlier, to attack the state for "inaction".
