At about 11:00 p.m. on the 23rd, it was reported that officers of the Special Duty Team of the Shatin Police District were carrying out an anti-drug mission code-named "Defender" outside Mei Tin Village, Tai Wai, and found a target "Love Romeo" RV driving to the area. When they were on Xiangfenliao Street, police officers in plain clothes revealed their identities and stepped forward to intercept them.
However, the driver of the RV immediately accelerated, rammed a police van and a civilian truck, and fled in the direction of Xiangfenliao Village.
A police officer chased him on foot. Because the RV involved had a flat tire after the collision, the speed was not high, and there were many cars in the village, making it difficult to drive at high speed. Therefore, the police chased about 300 meters and caught up with the RV.
The driver of the RV saw that there were chasing soldiers behind him, and the road ahead was also dug up, so he had to get out of the car and run away, while he abandoned the suspected marijuana and drugs on the side of the road, and dropped the car key into the Shing Mun River.
Officers eventually arrested the male driver and are investigating the incident, with some officers searching the river for lost keys.
The arrested man was 27 years old and reported to be unemployed.
As for the RV involved, both sides of the car crashed, and the left rear mirror was also smashed; as for the police van, the left head reel was hit with a flat tire.
