The Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Lattakia seized a restaurant facility on the Beit Yashout highway for trading in industrial gas on the black market, as part of the intensification of ration control over markets and commercial activities.
Engineer Ahmed Zaher, Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, indicated that the restaurant is closed and does not operate, and at the same time, it extracts its allocations from industrial gas and trades it on the black market.
The directorate also confiscated, according to Zaher, when it seized a warehouse, “a house under construction,” barrels and donuts of various sizes filled with diesel. The directorate also seized a shop for illegally possessing household gas cylinders with the intention of trading them in the market.
He pointed out that the seizures included violations against an unlicensed broiler slaughterhouse that soaks slaughtered broilers with fresh water with the intent of cheating by weight.
In a related context, the Health Committee of the Jableh City Council, in cooperation with the Consumer Protection Division and the Health Supervision Center in the city, seized a warehouse in Al-Dariba neighborhood that contained large quantities of expired food and non-food items.
