2022-08-24T05:14:04.180Z

The host-journalist of "La Matinale week-end" on La Chaîne Info lends his voice to a tyrant and full of himself archaeologist in the animated film Tad the Explorer and the Emerald Table, which is releasing this Wednesday, August 24 in cinemas.

Labels do not stick to Christophe Beaugrand's skin.

Sometimes a journalist in the morning on weekends on LCI, sometimes an entertainment host on TF1, this child of TV has always played the card of eclecticism.

This Wednesday, August 24, on the occasion of the cinema release of

Tad the Explorer and the Emerald Table

, the referee of “Ninja Warrior” offers himself a new step aside.

He entrusts his vocal cords to Ryan, a brilliant and authoritarian archaeologist, in permanent conflict with the hero of the cartoon.

- Why did you agree to lend your voice in this animated film?

Christopher BEAUGRAND.

-

It's a challenge that made me dream since I was a kid.

I've always loved cartoons and their voices, so much so that I even knew the voice actors in the works that punctuated my childhood.

As part of the filming of "50' Inside" on TF1, I met professionals in the sector and I took the opportunity to tell them that they could call me if, one day, they needed a voice. .

It happened and I immediately accepted.

I passed a casting during which the international teams of Paramount, based in the United States, validated my profile as well as my tone because it all had to stick to Ryan, my character.

He's a bad guy, who attacks everyone, so it's very funny.

Do you share a lot in common with him?

I hope we don't have many!

(Laughs.)

It's a composition role.

He is the leader of a team of archaeologists in which the hero, Tad the explorer, works.

But the latter is completely useless, he only does stupid things so he is simply a little assistant trainee.

He only bears the seals and performs odd jobs.

Ryan, on the other hand, is super bossy and humiliates the main character.

But above all, he's got a lot of fun because he's very cultured, and he knows it.

In addition, he is self-centered and wants to systematically recover all the honors.

But one day, Tad opens a sarcophagus out of curiosity, which triggers a curse.

“It is also for my son that I participate in this cartoon”

Christophe Beaugrand, voice actor in Tad the Explorer and the Emerald Table.

How did you prepare for this new exercise?

I worked with the artistic director of the cartoon.

In particular, she gave me advice on the rhythm of sentences in order to create comic situations.

The sound engineer told me if the ends of the sentences were sufficiently stamped or not.

It's real teamwork!

I also got a lot of inspiration from the way I tell stories to my little boy.

Usually, I read him the Three Little Pigs because it's his favorite and I change my voice when I slip into the shoes of the big bad wolf.

Did you accept this challenge to impress him?

Clearly, it's also for him that I'm doing it, because I think he's going to be super proud.

I don't know if he's going to recognize my voice because I'm changing it, making it nasal and very angry.

He will be able to see the cartoon in a year or two because he is still small and finds it difficult to stay focused for more than an hour in a cinema.

You will take over the reins of the morning show at the start of the school year every weekend on LCI.

Will you welcome new faces to your gang?

Yes, we are going to have a renewed installment.

Politics will be embodied by Nicolas Domenach, who is used to rounds of the table and this fairly relaxed atmosphere.

Olivier Mazerolle is leaving us and we will regret it.

He will be 80 years old, and getting up every Saturday and Sunday at 3:30 a.m. is tiring for him.

Another face of the team takes a sabbatical and one of the economics journalists changes hands.

We nevertheless keep the four pillars of the morning show: co-presenter Anne Chloé Bottet, Karima Charni for culture, Coralie Dioum for the weather and me.

Will your book Fils à papa(s

)

be adapted next season in television fiction?

I am working with the JLA production box to develop a screenplay adapted from my story.

I discuss with a tandem of screenwriters, a producer, and we want to put the dramatic aspect aside to focus on the feelgood side.

TF1 is eager to study a first synopsis!

The channel is open for discussion but the project has not yet been presented.
