Anyone in Russia who disagrees with the Kremlin risks arrest.

Nevertheless, there are still members of the opposition who take this risk.

Moscow/Ekaterinburg - War has been raging in Ukraine for six months.

In Russia, the Kremlin spreads lies and propaganda among its citizens.

Freedom of expression is not possible in Russia.

Probably the biggest opponent of the Kremlin, Alexej Navalny, is stuck in a Russian prison camp.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz paid tribute to the courage of the imprisoned opposition leader Navalny.

Anyone who expresses criticism risks being arrested.

Now the next opposition politician has been arrested.

The former mayor of Yekaterinburg, Yekaterinburg, Yevgeny Roisman.

He could face up to ten years in prison.

Famous Russian opposition politician Yevgeny Roisman arrested

Roisman is accused of spreading false news about the Russian army in the course of Moscow's war of aggression against Ukraine.

This was reported by the Internet

He is one of the last sharp critics of the Kremlin who was still at large.

The media also showed a video clip in which Roisman announced his arrest.

He was taken away.

The 59-year-old has a charity foundation and icon museum in Yekaterinburg.

According to the Russian news agency Tass, the premises of the relief fund and other offices of Roisman were raided.

Armed and masked security forces confiscated documents, computers and other technology.

The foundation management said that no search warrant had been submitted.

Jailing of Kremlin critics - more people listen to the opposition politicians

Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin has decided to mark the “half year” war against Ukraine with the demonstrative arrest of “the last opposition politician who is still free”.

That's what Navalny's spokeswoman Kira Jarmysch meant.

There are other members of the opposition, but not with Roisman's level of awareness and popularity.

As a former mayor of the city east of the Ural Mountains, Roisman still has many supporters there.

The arrest of every other member of the opposition shows once again that those in power have a problem with public opinion, said political expert Abbas Galliamov.

"More and more people are listening to the opposition, which is why it can no longer be left free," Gallyamov wrote in his blog on the Telegram news channel.

The day was probably chosen specifically to cover up public attention to the six-month war and possible criticism of it through the arrest of a well-known politician.

There was initially no official information from the Russian authorities about the arrest.
