Eurasburg -- On September 19, 2021, a then 60-year-old man assaulted another dog owner during an argument.
Now the two met again in front of the district court in Wolfratshausen.
The 60-year-old Eurasburger, accused of assault, stated that he and his partner led two small dogs on leashes during a walk.
Shortly before a bench on the Schlossberg, the dachshund of another owner rushed towards the two animals.
When trying to pull the four-legged friends away, the woman got tangled with the lines.
The other dog owner then tried to free her from the plight.
The defendant initially saw this as sexual harassment.
"He grabbed her by the hips: It just doesn't work," he said.
That's why the Eurasburger intervened loudly scolding and wiped the 54-year-old's face with his hand.
After the violent argument, the victim was treated in the hospital and by the family doctor
"Suddenly, I realized I was bleeding from my face," the victim recalled.
In consultation with a hurrying passer-by, he decided to alert the police.
The dog owner then went to the Wolfratshauser district clinic and a day later to his family doctor.
It was not possible to clarify at the hearing why internal bleeding also appeared in his eye in addition to the scratches.
In a short role play with judge Helmut Berger and the public prosecutor, the victim recreated the argument.
The attacker's claim that the injuries could also have been caused by a dog was not tenable.
The procedure was set against payment of money: the accused pays 800 euros to animal welfare
Nevertheless, Judge Helmut Berger proposed that the criminal proceedings be dropped in return for a payment of money in order to spare the defendants a further continuation of the dispute with the questioning of several witnesses.
"I have better things to do than negotiate a dispute between two dog owners: there are more important things to do," Judge Berger concluded.
After a short consultation with his lawyer Michaela Schmidt-Eberth, the accused finally agreed to pay 800 euros.
The money imposed goes to the animal protection association in Wolfratshausen-Geretsried and the surrounding area.
