For Roberto Izurieta, a political analyst and professor at George Washington University, next November the race in Florida for the Senate between Republican Marco Rubio and Democrat Val Demings will be "one of the most interesting to watch."
Rubio, who came to the Senate in 2011 and is seeking re-election, will now have to face Demings, a member of the House of Representatives since 2017 and who became his party's nominee in Tuesday's primary elections.
