Two men, already well known to the police, were tried on Tuesday August 23 in immediate appearance after being arrested last Saturday for acts of violence as well as a refusal to comply in Manosque, near Marseille, we learn this Wednesday with the prosecution of Digne-les-Bains.
Both were sentenced to prison terms.
Last Saturday, at the end of the day, the Manosque police station was informed that a man had just been attacked and kidnapped by two individuals.
A message is immediately transmitted to the surrounding police stations, in particular to that of Marseilles - insofar as the suspects are heading towards the Marseille city.
An agent of the night brigade of a Marseilles unit, who is then on the road in the direction of his work, is informed by one of his colleagues of what has just happened.

Recarded on the description of the suspect car, the official sees it a few moments later when it passes him at full speed.
The policeman then embarks on a discreet spinning of the vehicle while he gives the alert to his colleagues.
A few minutes later, gendarmes intercept a first suspect in the town of Peyrolles-en-Provence, north of Marseille.
The driver, who also tried to escape the soldiers, refusing to respond to orders to stop, was neutralized and placed in police custody.
On board, the victim is discovered.
Injured, she is taken care of by the emergency services.
A second vehicle, which is assumed to be an "opener", as indicated by a police source in

, is stopped by the police at the same time.
His driver was in turn arrested and placed in police custody.

One of the authors was found guilty of the offenses of “violence committed in a meeting” followed by incapacity for work of more than 8 days and sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment, including 6 months suspended on probation.
The second was declared guilty of the offenses of "violence committed in meetings" followed by incapacity for more than 8 days, "theft with violence resulting in total incapacity for work for more than 8 days", "refusal to comply exposing directly an agent responsible for noting offenses with a risk of death or permanent infirmity", and sentenced to 3 years' imprisonment, including 6 months suspended on probation.
Both were kept in detention.
And the prosecutor of Digne-les-Bains, Rémy Avon, to specify that
"the facts of kidnapping / sequestration were not characterized."

"There is no doubt, however, that the victim would have been killed without the brilliant intervention of the off-duty policeman"
