The Department of Natural Disasters in Afghanistan revealed that the floods caused by the recent heavy monsoon rains have killed about 180 people and destroyed homes and agricultural lands, with most of the damage concentrated in the eastern provinces.
Local media quoted the Department of Natural Disasters as saying that heavy rains in Logar state led to the demolition of houses and the erosion of their contents with water, in addition to the death of dozens of animals and livestock, while thousands of dunums of fields and lands became unsuitable for agriculture.
Hochi district in Logar state has witnessed recent heavy rains, accompanied by storms and floods, causing severe damage to thousands of residents.
Floods and floods swept 19 countries around the world recently, leaving great human and material losses. It was estimated that about 1,793 people were killed within two months, including 110 who died in Afghanistan in just 10 days.
