Al-Hasakah-SANA
Governmental efforts in al-Hasakah governorate focused on securing drinking water for the people, in light of the Turkish occupier continuing to cut it off from the Allouk station for the 25th consecutive day, threatening the lives of about one million citizens who depend on the station as a main source of drinking water.
The government’s efforts were represented in operating 16 desalination plants installed by the General Directorate of Drinking Water in Al-Hasakah in the city center, all of which were put into service to meet the demand for water and in cooperation with international organizations and NGOs to distribute water to the people.
The head of Al-Hasakah city council, Adnan Khajo, said in a statement to SANA reporter that as part of the efforts to contribute to solving the suffering of the people of Al-Hasakah, the city council is running for the fourth day in a row a number of tanks within the center with distribution within sectors to deliver water to homes as an emergency solution.
Khaju stressed that this water is sterile, clean and potable, and is filled from wells and manholes under the supervision of the Al-Hasakah Water Corporation. .
Khaju, who pointed out that the violations of the Turkish occupier have exhausted the people and increased their suffering, pointed to the need to find a permanent solution to the problem of the Allouk water station and not to allow any party to control it as it constitutes the main source for about one million citizens in the province, stressing the need for international parties and humanitarian and relief organizations to intervene to put pressure on Turkish occupier and not only emergency solutions.
In the same context, charitable and civil societies launched initiatives to distribute water to all homes in the city center and coordinate with the official authorities in this regard. Ibrahim Khalaf, Director of Social Affairs and Labor in Al-Hasakah, explained that the Directorate is currently supervising the work of charities that implement initiatives to distribute drinking water to the people according to the distribution plan. received from the county.
Khalaf pointed out that there are other associations that will take the same initiatives during the coming period to alleviate the suffering of the people.
In turn, the people of Al-Hasakah condemned the violations of the Turkish and American occupations against them, criticizing the international silence on these humanitarian crimes, calling for the intervention of international organizations to curb the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation and stop their attacks on Alouk station.
The people praised the government’s efforts to secure drinking water, with the need to find a permanent solution to secure water, and that the water institution is the only supervising body, and this can only be achieved when the Syrian Arab Army liberates the area and expels the occupier and its mercenaries once and for all.
