Tartous-Sana
The activities of the Sanabel Festival, which is held in cooperation with the Directorate of Culture and the Syndicate of Craftsmen and with the support of economic activities and the Al-Sabil Association, started this evening in the village of Amra in the Safita region in the Tartous countryside.
The activities of the first day included the opening of a drawing exhibition for adults and children and a book fair that included a group of novels, short stories and poetry collections, studies and research books, in addition to handicrafts and a sports dance show for children.
It also included a poetry evening with the participation of a number of poets, in addition to a musical evening by the Arab Institute of Music in Tartous. The families of the martyrs and the wounded of the Syrian Arab Army were also honored.
The director of the festival, Dana Abdel Rahim, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the new thing offered by the festival this year is to hold events with the participation of children with disabilities, in addition to the fact that it includes a variety of cultural, artistic and literary activities, musical evenings, and others.
The Director of the Arab Institute in Tartous, Dima Issa, indicated that it was the institute's first participation in the Sanabel Festival, through 30 students studying at the institute and a number of teachers in it.
The wounded Muhannad Asaad, a participant in the festival for the first time, expressed his happiness with the household models that he made of cardboard and wooden tools, while the poet Manhal Hassan recited three poems, including a poem entitled “The Most Beautiful Mothers” in addition to two poems in spoken poetry, “What did my grandfather say and what did I know?”
