After the major fire at the Eggertshof near Freising, the emergency services take stock.

The on-site investigations are ongoing.

Freising

– After the fire on the Eggertshof near Pulling on Thursday, in which a stable was completely destroyed, the emergency services now took stock.

"The biggest problem for our extinguishing units, apart from the massive heat that caused the flames, was the muggy, hot weather," explained the commander of the Freising fire brigade, city fire inspector Oliver Sturde.

FFW in action

Press spokesman Florian Wöhrl adds: "A total of 182 emergency services from 17 fire departments were on site and 74 breathing apparatus were in use.

When the first units arrived, a stable and an outbuilding on the farm were completely on fire.

The fire threatened to spread to the residential building.

The extreme heat radiation also threatened the biogas plant, which is also located on the site.

A targeted firefighting operation prevented the spread of fire from three sides.”

In the meantime, members of the estate had managed to bring most of the approximately 80 animals housed in the barn to safety.

Nevertheless, several cattle died.

The remaining livestock was examined by veterinarians, reports the FFW spokesman.

In addition, the extinguishing work was supported by drones from the district's drone group.

Wöhrl: "The images enabled the operations center to coordinate the measures in a targeted manner." The FFW Marzling meanwhile held the position in fire station 1.

After the fire was under control around 2 p.m., the lengthy and strenuous post-extinguishing work began: "With heavy equipment, the THW Freising and court staff cleared the fire from the ruins well into the night, which was extinguished outside the courtyard.

A fire watch was posted throughout the night by the Pulling fire brigade.

The BRK Freising cared for exhausted employees of the farm and emergency services on an outpatient basis in the treatment tent.

BRK treated

There was also plenty to do for the BRK Freising, as spokesman Paul Eisenmann reports: "The organizational BRK operations manager Hubert Böck left the rapid deployment groups (SEG) treatment, technology and safety, catering, as well as the support group for the medical operations management and support group for the rescue service through the integrated control center in Erding.

In total, more than 50 volunteers and ten full-time Red Cross workers were on duty, as were the Johanniter.

An Eggertshof employee had to be transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Six other people, employees of the farm and emergency services, received outpatient treatment in the treatment tent.

"In addition, the ventilation system of the tent was used as a cool retreat for the firefighters," reports the BRK. The crisis intervention team (KIT) meanwhile looked after the owners of the property "in this absolutely exceptional situation".

Meanwhile, the BRK technicians and electricians took care of the power supply and cooling of the tent.

And the catering team organized cool drinks and sandwiches in no time.

"The cooperation between the fire brigade, THW, police and BRK ran absolutely smoothly", summarized Hubert Böck on Friday.

The last of the volunteers returned at around 7.30pm.

police investigated

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

The investigations are still ongoing, according to the police headquarters in Oberbayern-Nord.

There were also no statements as to the extent of the damage.
