Fled after illegal race: BMW lands in the wall of the house - police search with helicopter

An illegal vehicle race took place on Heckenstallerstrasse last night.
While fleeing from the police, a car went off the road and crashed into a residential building.
Both drivers fled.
Munich – On Friday night (August 26), the police observed an illegal car race on Heckenstallerstrasse in the direction of Passauerstrasse.
When the driver noticed the police officers, he fled at up to 160 km/h on Hansastrasse and ran a red traffic light.
Shortly before the junction with Fuggerstraße, he lost control of his vehicle, raced over a green lane, broke through a hedge and finally crashed into a house wall.

After the collision, the driver of the black BMW fled on foot.
The police searched the area for the fugitive with a helicopter.
A white Mercedes-Benz car was also involved in the race.
Officials were able to secure the parked car shortly after the incident on Passauerstrasse.
Both drivers initially fled.
By fleeing, the drivers caused property damage totaling tens of thousands of euros.
It is unclear whether those involved were injured while fleeing.
The police are now investigating suspected banned motor vehicle racing, violations of the Vehicle Registration Ordinance and the Compulsory Insurance Act.
