, the young mother resumes her role as muse for this bewitching perfume, like her.

What is your definition of the word “forbidden”?

Rooney Mara-.

The forbidden is a concept that has puzzled people since the dawn of mankind.

Eve and the apple – Plato and the cave.

We cannot escape it.

As far as I'm concerned, if it can help you or humanity to learn and grow, then you have to dare the forbidden.

What is your relationship with perfume?

I think perfume has great power.

Some fragrances can bring up all kinds of memories and feelings.

Personally, I like to wear perfume for special occasions.

Or when I'm working on a movie and I want the character I'm playing to have a certain smell.

How does this perfume, of which you are the muse, resemble you?

I identify with the fact that all the perfumes in the L'Interdit range evoke both the past and the future.

They symbolize both the path already traveled and all that remains to be done to push the limits, defy the taboos, move forward.

These are perfumes steeped in history – they represent this very old taste for audacity – but also very modern.

I like the duality of this new eau de toilette, the fact that it is both intense and sober, floral and musky.

Smells and fragrances are the most powerful memory sensors in my eyes.

What are your first olfactory memories?

The smell of mothballs in my grandparents' old house, the smell of horses and cows and barns, the smell that an old house has in the dead of summer.

My first lover's cologne.

I kept a small bottle of it when I was 15 and sniffed it regularly.

The smell of a first love.

The smells associated with the different seasons that marked my memory.

I really like the fall season, although sometimes when that season approaches on the East Coast of the United States, it brings back bad memories – that terrible feeling of anxiety when you know you have to go back to the school.

What smells make you feel better?

Those of sage, pine, lavender and rose.

Do you defy the ban in life?

There are a lot of things that I personally would never do.

But if I really felt like I was doing the right thing and someone was trying to talk me out of it, I wouldn't let that stop me.
