The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the Kyiv authorities are trying to disrupt the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission at the Zaporozhye nuclear plant.
"Kyiv is making every effort to disrupt the visit of the IAEA mission to the nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye, but these efforts will not be realized," the ministry said in a statement today, RIA Novosti news agency quoted the ministry as saying, adding that the Russian side is doing everything necessary to ensure the progress of the agency's mission there. .
The Russian Ministry pointed out that this visit has become increasingly important in light of the Ukrainian forces launching new strikes on the plant and the spent nuclear fuel storage area.
In turn, the administration of the city of Energodar, where the Zaporozhye nuclear plant is located, announced that Kyiv forces intensified their artillery bombardment of the station during the past hour.
"During the past hour, the Kyiv forces fired another 6 artillery shells from the opposite bank of the Dnieper River, and during the day 10 artillery shelling was recorded on the territory of the nuclear plant, and the explosions occurred near the stores of radioactive isotopes," the administration said in a statement.
