At least two people were killed on Saturday August 27 and several others injured in a village near Rotterdam after a truck swerved off the road and drove into a group dining outside, according to Dutch police.
The accident happened in the early evening when the Spanish-registered truck left the road in Zuidzijdsedijk, about 30 km south of Rotterdam.

A policeman present at the scene told local radio Rijnmond that "
at least two people were killed
", but that the police were still on the scene to establish a final toll.
Photographs taken after the crash identified the truck as belonging to Spain-based company El Mosca.
The truck driver, who was not injured, was arrested and taken into custody, according to NOS radio.
