Terrible news just after midnight: On Saturday at 1 a.m., a wrong-way driver was reported on the A 92.
Shortly afterwards he was stopped by drivers.
Neufahrn
– According to the police, the wrong-way driver was traveling in the direction of Deggendorf, but wanted to go to Munich.
Between the Eching-Ost junction and the Neufahrn junction, some drivers managed to stop the wrong-way driver in a construction site section and prevent them from continuing until the police arrived.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
The driver was drunk and didn't have a driver's license
The review of the 47-year-old from the Pfaffenhofen district showed that he was drunk.
He steered his silver-colored Mitsubishi with "well over one per thousand," according to the police.
He also had no identification papers with him.
As it turned out, the driver was driving without a valid driver's license.
His driving license issued in Bulgaria was not valid in Germany.
After the blood was taken and the personal details were determined, the wrong-way driver was released from police custody.
Road users who can provide relevant information about the situation or who were endangered by the wrong-way driver should contact the traffic police on tel. (0 81 61) 95 20.
