At the end of last week, Sony announced the price increase for the PlayStation 5 console around the world.
The global inflation in the European market, for example, caused the price of the console to jump by 50 euros, and this means that in Israel we are likely to see a price increase, at one point or another.
Not only the online players reacted to the news, Sony's competitors, Microsoft and Nintendo also released statements assuring their consumers that they are not planning price increases for their consoles - the Xbox Series X\S and the Nintendo Switch.
At least not in the near future.

Microsoft stated: "We are not planning price increases for our consoles. We evaluate our business regularly, and frequently offer great gaming options to our players. The price of the Xbox Series S will remain 249 euros, and the price of the Series X will remain around 449 euros" .
Nintendo said: "While we cannot discuss pricing strategies, we have no plans to change the prices of our hardware due to inflation. If we decide to make changes in the future, we will discuss and examine the issue carefully. While the final price for consumers is always determined by the retailers, Nintendo does not Planning price increases".
Of course, these statements do not rule out the possibility that console prices will rise in the future, but for now it seems that the companies are interested in taking advantage of Sony's situation to their advantage.

He pointed out that the person who is expected to profit from the situation during the upcoming holiday period is mainly Microsoft.
It can offer players a cheap and affordable gaming package with the Xbox Series S and a Game Pass subscription - and consider price increases afterwards.
