According to the CHP, as of August 27, 52 cases of Legionnaires' disease have been recorded this year; in 2021 and 2020, 69 and 104 cases were recorded respectively.
A spokesman for the center said that men, people over the age of 50, smokers, alcoholics and people with weakened immune systems are more susceptible to Legionnaires' disease.
