The Penzberg folk festival has opened.

Mayor Stefan Korpan needed three hits on Friday to tap the first keg of Reutberger beer.

After the first Wiesn weekend, host Holger Controller is satisfied with the start and is already thinking about coming back next year.

Only one worry torments him.

Penzberg – “I think it's great.

The people are nice and the tent is pretty full.” With these words, host Holger Controller summed up the first days of the Penzberger Volksfest 2022 on Sunday afternoon yesterday to come back next year.”

Satisfied with the first few days

As reported, for a long time it was uncertain whether there would even be a folk festival on the Berghalde this year, after the previous festival host was unable to hold the event due to a lack of staff.

Mayor Stefan Korpan, who reviewed the trembling party at the folk festival on the opening evening, was particularly pleased that after weeks of searching, Regeler was still able to find a landlord and that the Wiesn and small amusement park could be set up in just three weeks.

In his short speech in the almost fully occupied marquee, which offers space for 2,200 people, Korpan spoke of his joy that after the years of the pandemic, a real folk festival could finally take place again.

But he also asked the guests to understand that

if, given the short preparation time, things don't go smoothly during the festival week.

"The most important thing is that you are there," said Korpan and continued: "To a beautiful, peaceful Oktoberfest.

Enjoys it!"

Four cooks did not show up

For the head of the town hall, it was the first time that he opened the traditional event on the Berghalde as mayor.

Numerous invited guests from local and state politics as well as representatives of clubs and visitors from the twin town of Ahlen kept an eye on him.

It took him three hits to tap the first barrel and then, with a loud "Ozapft is!" to fill the first mugs with the foaming beer.

After the first few days, landlord regulator was very satisfied with the course of the folk festival.

Even if they had had a drink, the visitors remained friendly and went home peacefully.

He was not aware of any major incidents.

As far as the personnel situation is concerned, he has sufficient on-site services for the festival week.

He also found a security company to look after the event.

His problem child is the kitchen.

Because four chefs have simply not appeared so far.

"They don't answer the phone either," criticized regulator.

You try to prepare in the kitchen.

Nevertheless, visitors sometimes have to wait longer for their food - an uncomfortable situation for Regulator, which he regrets.

On Thursday, he assured, two additional cooks would come.

Then the situation will calm down.
