Today, As-Suwayda Governorate launched the activities of the September Shopping Festival (Al-Khair Markets) in Al-Mazraa Commercial Complex, in cooperation between the branch of the Syrian Foundation for Trade, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of the province, and a number of civil and charitable associations and initiatives.

The festival, which will continue until the eighth of next September, includes a variety of school supplies, stationery, supplies, and rural products at Soriana Hall in the city of Suwayda, and the Syrian trade complexes in the cities of Shahba and Salkhad.

The festival's coordinator and the official in charge of community initiatives in the local development office in the governorate, Walid Al-Hamoud, explained in a statement to SANA's reporter that the festival falls within the governorate's plan to reduce prices and help needy families by providing a variety of commodities at lower prices than the market.

The assistant director of the branch of the Syrian Trade Establishment, Razan Zain Al-Din, stated that the branch offered at the festival a variety of school supplies, with market discounts ranging between 25 and 35 percent, with the possibility of purchasing them in installments for state employees, with a purchase ceiling of 500,000 pounds and a payment period of up to 12 months.

For his part, the head of the Suwayda Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nabih Bakri, indicated that a number of commercial and economic activities in the field of stationery, clothing and food supplies are participating in the festival in order to reduce the burdens on the citizen, whether through offers or discounts.

The owner of one of the institutions participating in the festival, Waseem Abu Fakhr, said that their participation came with the aim of reducing the burdens on citizens under the current circumstances by offering offers on school bags and stationery, and content with simple profits or at the cost of some of the supplies provided.

Samia Abu Hassoun, the supervisor of the Syrian Association for the Physically Handicapped Department, stated that the association participated in local and handmade food products for ten people with disabilities and their supporters in order to support them on the one hand and provide them to those wishing to buy them at prices lower than the market.

Meanwhile, Suad Muhammad Jumaa, the supervisor of the sewing workshop at Al-Tha'ala Charitable Society, indicated that the workshop's products were offered from school clothes at cost in line with the workshop's developmental and charitable goals.

The opening of the festival was attended by the governor of As-Suwayda, Eng. Bassam Parsik, the Secretary of the As-Suwayda branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Fawzat Shukair, the provincial police chief, Major General Maan Asaad, and the head of the provincial council, Rasmi Al-Aysami.
