The Directorate of Water Resources in Hama Governorate launched a new batch of irrigation water from Al-Rastan Dam to irrigate agricultural crops, especially summer and intensification, in the Al-Ghab area in the countryside of the governorate.
The Director of Water Resources, Engineer Tawfiq Saleh, told SANA reporter that 12 cubic meters of water per second was released from the Rastan Dam towards the Mahardah Dam to irrigate the summer and intensive agricultural lands in the field of the irrigation networks “Tar Al-Ula Al-Asharnah” and “Al-Ghab.”
Saleh indicated that the directorate has rehabilitated the gates of Nahr al-Bared, Faqro and Fawar springs located on the main drain, which works to impound and raise the water level in these sewage to irrigate agricultural lands on both sides of those gates.
