Opinion Responsibility means guilt: when it comes to those responsible for the Miron disaster, one must not be satisfied with a warning Israel today

A year and a half has passed since that terrible night in which the greatest civil disaster since the establishment of the state occurred • The investigative committee sent warning letters to 18 people it found responsible, but only one of them resigned from his position • For now, they intend to continue in their position even in the next celebration • This is shameful behavior which should concern every Israeli citizen

A year and a half have passed since that terrible night, the night of 33 Ba'Omer Tashfa, when my little brother was taken from me in the greatest civil disaster since the establishment of the state.

One year and three months of intensive activity by the State Commission of Inquiry to investigate the Miron disaster, a committee that, to our shame, we had to fight fiercely for its establishment as if it was not the minimum step required of the State of Israel after such a terrible disaster.

Last night, the investigative committee sent warning letters to 18 people it found to be responsible for the disaster, 18 people, of whom only one took responsibility and resigned from his position, the former North Police Chief Superintendent Shimon Lavi. The rest of those responsible for the disaster did not see fit to do the minimum required, to put down the keys And go home. Unfortunately, for the time being they intend to continue in their position somewhere in the ivory tower even during the next revelry, shameful and delusional behavior that should concern every Israeli citizen wherever he is.

In the three months after the disaster, while we were fighting for the establishment of the committee, I stated above all that all we want and ask for is to prevent the next disaster - "I am not looking for revenge but for consolation", and "I have no interest in finding the guilty, only in correcting the deficiencies".

A year and a half has passed, even today I have no interest in finding the culprits, but you, the citizens of the State of Israel, must have such an interest.

Responsibility means guilt, those responsible for the Versailles disaster went to jail, just like those responsible for the Arad festival disaster, only in the Miron Olam disaster as is their custom. The warning letters will not bring back our loved ones to me and the forty-three families of the disaster, but this step is another step in the right direction. All we have left is To mourn, all you have left is to worry, to worry about the future of the country. Where is the leadership? Where is the responsibility? Where is the shame?
