Princess Diana, a daughter of the House of Spencer aristocracy, was one of Britain's favorite women until her tragic death in a Paris car accident on August 31, 1997, 25 years ago today.

Now a 4-year-old boy claims that in his distant past he was Princess Diana.

His father, the Australian TV presenter, David Campbell, revealed in a personal column that he believes that his son is the reincarnation of "Lady Dee" and although at first he thought it was a child's whim - he was surprised by the chilling information that his son shared with him, according to him without any way of knowing the things.

The 45-year-old father shared his questionable story with Stellar magazine in 2019. He said that his son, Billy Campbell, claimed to be Princess Diana when he was just two years old.

He said: "It started when someone gave my wife, Lisa, a card with a picture of Princess Diana on it. Billy, just two years old, pointed to the card and said: 'Look! That's me when I was a princess.' At the age of 3 he started talking about two boys. When I asked Him which boys? He answered 'my boys'. Okay, strange... but we flowed."

David added: "He later informed our Scottish friend that when he was Princess Diana, he used to stay in a castle from Wonderland. He described the castle as having 'unicorns' in it and it's called Balmoral. The unicorn is the national animal of Scotland - and there are unicorns on the walls The castle. How does he know that???"

At some point the concerned parents decided to show their son pictures of Princess Diana and he confirmed to them: "That's me as a princess."

According to David, his son's memory of the day the princess died gave him chills.

He added: "The boy told us, 'Then one day the sirens came and I wasn't a princess anymore'. Obviously Lisa and I became Scully and Mulder at that point and we had to investigate. There's a boy here without any knowledge whatsoever about the royal house. How could he know that? It's also possible to rule out parental interference. It's true that my wife is from England, but she's not obsessed with royalty. We have zero souvenirs in our house. We don't raise the issue at all."

At the end of his column, David wondered: "Will Billy grow up and never remember this? Could he actually be the reincarnation of Princess Diana?".

Since the story broke, David - still a big name on Australian television - has refused to speak about the issue again.

He uploads pictures of his little son on Instagram on a regular basis.

The Daily Star contacted David in an attempt to get an update on his son's condition but did not receive a response.
