A8 near Valley: Car drives into breakdown vehicle - Six injured and another accident

Valley – A car broke down on the A8 motorway on Tuesday.

He stopped in the middle lane.

A 42-year-old recognized this too late and drove into the Mini.

There were six injured, including three children.

On Tuesday (October 30) there was an accident at around 8 p.m. on the A8 motorway in the direction of Munich, around the Holzkirchen-Nord service area.

A 41-year-old from the Munich area was driving his Mini in the middle lane when he broke down.

"It was no longer possible for him to leave the road in the direction of the hard shoulder, which is why he came to a standstill in the middle of three lanes," reports the police.

His 45-year-old wife was also in the vehicle with him.

A 42-year-old from Baden-Württemberg noticed the breakdown vehicle too late.

According to the report, she tried to swerve to the left, but was unable to do so and hit the rear of the Mini.

There were three children in the vehicle with her.

As a result of the collision, the breakdown vehicle was pushed into the left lane, where both vehicles then came to a standstill.

In the accident, all six vehicle occupants were slightly injured, they came to surrounding clinics.

Both vehicles were totaled for about 35,000 euros.

In addition to the rescue service, the fire brigade and the police, the Holzkirchen motorway maintenance department was also on site and secured the accident site.

Since the left and middle lanes had to be closed while the accident was being recorded, there were significant traffic disruptions in the direction of Munich for a period of two hours.

Another accident in the backwater

At around 8:50 p.m., a 58-year-old from the Rosenheim area drove his Citroen on the A8 in the direction of Munich in the middle lane.

Due to the previous accident, there was a backwater.

In this, the 58-year-old wanted to switch from the middle lane to the right lane.

He indicated this by blinking.

According to the 58-year-old, a car transporter driving in the right lane honked and accelerated to close the gap into which the Citroen driver wanted to drive.

This resulted in a collision in the middle lane, in which the front bumper of the Citroen was torn off.

The Citroen driver stopped, the driver of the car transport continued his journey without worrying about the damage.

No one was injured in the collision, and the damage to the car amounts to around 5,000 euros.
