Freisinger Volksfest 2022: Volksfestlauf leads through the city center again - traffic stays outside

The day after the opening of the Freisinger Volksfest, the next highlight follows: the Volksfestlauf.
Some roads have to be closed for this.
Freising
– A first highlight in the sports program at the folk festival is the traditional Freising folk festival run, which takes place in the city center on Saturday, September 3rd.
There are various closures along the running route in the cathedral city.
City spokeswoman Christl Steinhart informs: Start and finish is Marienplatz.
The route includes Ziegelgasse, Kammergasse, Weizengasse and Untere Hauptstrasse.
The closure affects the city center and the usual pedestrian zone from Ziegelgasse to Heiliggeistgasse (until 6 p.m.).
About the run: The children's and youth runs start at 4 p.m. (total length: around 700 and 1300 meters) and the adult run over 6.5 kilometers (five laps) starts at 5 p.m.
Registration is required (lc-freising.de or www.volksfestlauf.de).
Start and finish is Marienplatz.
The award ceremonies will take place after the races at Marienplatz.
The organizers of the runs are the City Association for Sport and the LC Freising.
