Gasoline for 1.48 euros!
Motorists were amazed on Tuesday evening when they drove past the price boards at the Elan petrol station in Unterhaching: Super and Super E10 for 1.479 euros.
Get to the pump!
Unterhaching
- Quickly fill up cheaply before the tank discount expires on Thursday and the prices rise, thought Unterhachinger, who looked incredulously at the price column of the Elan filling station on Tuesday evening: Super and Super E10 for 1.479 euros.
The bargain hunters caused a bit of traffic chaos on Münchner Strasse – and the fuel wasn't even available for the record-breakingly low price.
Disappointment when filling up: billed well over 1.80 euros per liter
Actually, it was between 1.70 and 1.80 euros at the self-service gas station.
Then around 6 p.m. the fall on the price boards.
When filling up at the pump, there was great confusion - and disappointment: the fuel cost well over 1.80 euros.
The people of Unterhaching were disappointed, as a look at the “Unterhaching Dorfgeflüster” Facebook group shows.
“Very briefly everything offline and crazy.
But it would be nice anyway,” writes one user.
One woman said: "Don't worry.
You would never have gotten 1.47".
"Ganz Haching" went to fill up and blocked the road to the "Waldeslust" restaurant, complains one user.
Intensive debate in the Unterhachinger Facebook group
The reasons were also discussed: Whenever the tanks were empty and refilled, the prices on the board were wrong, according to the users.
"Whenever it's cheap, the pump doesn't work," says another.
Cause: IT system error across Bavaria at TotalEnergies
In fact, an "IT system error" is to blame for the wrong price, confirms Nadia Hagemann, spokeswoman for TotalEnergies.
The Elan filling stations belong to the mineral oil giant.
Throughout Bavaria, the prices were displayed on the boards at some of the gas stations for five to 15 minutes on Tuesday evening.
"The correction was initiated between 5:35 and 5:45 p.m.," the spokeswoman continued.
It's a shame, but it would be nice anyway.
