Awawada has been on hunger strike for 171 days in protest of his administrative arrest • In a conversation with Israel Hayom, Dalal, his wife, calls on the Palestinian public to protest in the streets, and warns: "His death may ignite the territory and the struggle of the Palestinian prisoners" • "Israel is using it to show that it is not Surrender to the Islamic Jihad" • Also: the message they received from the security forces in Israel

Dalal, the wife of the administrative detainee, Khalil Awawada, says that based on the opinion of the doctors who spoke with the family, there is a danger to her husband's life, who has been on hunger strike for 171 days, and he could die suddenly at any given moment.

In a conversation with Israel Hayom, Dalal rejected the claims that Khalil is a dangerous terrorist and says that his holding in administrative detention for six months without charge raises serious question marks, and according to her there is no real justification for his continued detention.

"They claim that he is a future danger to security without having any evidence and not even a single charge against him. He wrote a post on Facebook, and they say it's incitement, and then present secret material to the judges, and predict that he might do something in the future. How can you keep him in custody for any length of time So long because of predictions? It's a fact that there is nothing against him. It's illegal, and today a situation has arisen in which Khalil represents all the administrative detainees."

Khalil Awawada, 40 years old, father of four daughters, from the town of Idna, member of the Islamic Jihad.

He was arrested in December of last year by virtue of an administrative detention order for six months, and began a hunger strike in March of this year.

The order was extended by another 4 months, and he should be released at the beginning of October.

"We don't know what will happen at this time. If something serious happens to him or he dies, it will be a decisive point that could start an intifada on the Palestinian street, and also in the prisoners' movement. Khalil's story is no longer our private matter, it is a national thing. I call on the people Palestinians to go to the streets and protest," says Dalal.

In recent weeks, demonstrations have been seen in Hebron and other cities in protest of his administrative arrest.

In the ceasefire negotiations at the end of the last round of fighting in the Gaza Strip, the Islamic Jihad demanded the release of Awawada.

"Israel is using it as a tool in its fight against the jihad and the resistance organizations. It does not want to show the jihad that it surrenders to its conditions, nor does it want to be seen in public opinion as giving the jihad a victory, ahead of the elections that will be held shortly in Israel," says Dalal .

According to her, at a court hearing held earlier this week, Israeli security officials told the lawyer representing Awawada that "there is an intention that his administrative detention may not be extended at the end of the current period".

In response, the lawyer demanded to see a written decision stating that the detention will end on 2.10.22.

Those around Awawada say that he is determined to continue his hunger strike, but hint that if a proposal is brought before him not to renew the arrest warrant for another period, he will examine it and make a decision, which may lead to the end of the strike.
