Valley - A momentous accident occurred on Tuesday evening, August 30, on the A8 near Holzkirchen: six people were injured and two vehicles were involved.
There was also a secondary accident in the backwater.
The police reports significant traffic disruptions in the direction of Munich.
Around 8 p.m., a 41-year-old was driving a Mini around the Holzkirchen-Nord service area when he suddenly broke down.
According to the police report, the man was no longer able to leave the roadway in the direction of the hard shoulder.
The car came to a stop in the middle of three lanes.
The driver's wife was also in the car.
Accident on the A8: car crashes into breakdown vehicle - three children in the car
At the same time, a 42-year-old was driving her Skoda on the said section of the highway.
However, the woman from Baden-Württemberg noticed the breakdown vehicle too late.
She tried to swerve to the left, but was unable to do so and hit the rear of the Mini.
This is reported by the Holzkirchen motorway police.
There were three children in the vehicle with the woman.
The collision pushed the breakdown vehicle into the left lane.
Both cars finally came to a stop there.
All six occupants of the vehicle suffered minor injuries in the accident.
They were taken to the surrounding clinics for clarification by the ambulance service.
According to the police, both cars were totaled.
The cars were towed away.
Officials estimate the damage to property at around 35,000 euros.
After an accident on the A8: Significant traffic disruptions in the direction of Munich
In addition to the rescue service, fire brigade and police, the Holzkirchen motorway maintenance department was also on site and secured the accident site.
Since the left and middle lane had to be closed for the duration of the accident investigation, there were significant traffic disruptions in the direction of Munich for a period of 2 hours.

Another traffic accident occurred in the traffic jam caused by the first accident.
Here, the person who caused the accident - the driver of a car transporter - fled without bothering to settle the damage.
Accident in the backwater: the polluter flees
Around 9 p.m., a 58-year-old from the Rosenheim area drove his Citroen on the A8 in the direction of Munich in the middle of three lanes.
Due to the previous accident, there was a backwater.
In this, the man wanted to change from the middle lane to the right lane.
He indicated this by blinking.
According to the 58-year-old, a car transporter driving in the right lane honked and accelerated to close the gap into which the Citroen driver wanted to drive.
This resulted in a collision in the middle lane, in which the front bumper of the Citroen was torn off.
The Citroen driver stopped, the driver of the car transport continued his journey without worrying about the damage.
No one was injured in the collision, and officials estimate the damage to the car at around 5,000 euros.
