A man suspected of having killed his partner with twenty stab wounds before going out of the window on August 10 in Villeneuve-sur-Lot (Lot-et-Garonne), was indicted on Wednesday August 31 for "murder on a spouse”, we learned from the Agen prosecutor’s office.
The body of the 22-year-old young woman was found by firefighters around 1:50 a.m. in the couple's apartment, lying on a bed and showing "about twenty stab wounds including 7 deep wounds", according to the prosecution.
The emergency services had just intervened with the suspect, who had fallen from this apartment located on the 2nd floor of a building in Villeneuve-sur-Lot.
A witness had reported his fall.

The 26-year-old young man, who had his throat cut, had been evacuated in absolute emergency by helicopter to a hospital in Bordeaux, where he had been operated on.
He was extracted on Wednesday to be served with his indictment in Agen before being taken to a specialized care unit in Bordeaux.
Having speech difficulties, he was unable to express himself, explained the prosecution.
This 26-year-old man, who worked in the same hotel-restaurant as the victim, faces life imprisonment.
Originally from Martigues (Bouches-du-Rhône), the couple, who was in the context of imminent separation, was described as uneventful by neighbors and had recently moved into this accommodation.
According to the latest figures from the Interior Ministry, 122 women were killed by their spouse or ex-spouse in 2021, a number up 20% from 2020.
