"Free Saxony" want to join the demo - the left is outraged and complains

In the dispute over the government's energy policy, critics of the left accuse the lack of differentiation from the right. The party now wants to defend itself in court against the demo connection of a right-wing extremist splinter party.

The left-wing parliamentary group's Eastern Commissioner, Sören Pellmann, is taking legal action against the right-wing extremists "Free Saxony" after they called for a demonstration in his name.

Pellmann had the news portal "t-online" informed about his office.

Linke, AfD and Freie Sachsen are each planning their own meetings against the federal government's energy policy in Leipzig on Monday.

Pellmann had announced a demo under the slogan "Hot autumn against social cold".

Official title: "Prices down – energy and food must be affordable!"

3000 to 4000 participants are expected.

The right-wing extremist splinter party Freie Sachsen then announced that they wanted to demonstrate against the federal government on Monday evening alongside the left in Leipzig.

At the same place, the central Augustusplatz, and at the same time, the event "Free Saxony support the Monday protest by Sören Pellmann and the left - together against those above" is registered for ten participants.

The district association of the right-wing AfD also expects ten participants in an action on the outskirts.

In addition, there are other left-wing groups with their own demos at the start.

The city's regulatory office confirmed this on Thursday at the request of the dpa news agency.

A total of seven rallies from the right and left have been registered for Monday.

The police are preparing for a larger operation, as a spokesman said.

"The right's helpless attempt to play a role"

"Of course" there is no cooperation between the Left Party and the "Free Saxony," said Pellmann "t-online".

He wants to continue his appearance at the Left Party event: "We have a clear demo consensus against the right, which we will implement," said the Leipzig member of the Bundestag.

"Otherwise we'll continue to plan in peace and won't let ourselves be distracted by right-wing attempts at provocation."

"This is the helpless attempt by the right to somehow play a role," Pellmann told the dpa news agency.

“The right must be panicking if they want to crawl under the skirts of the left.

Leipzig will not leave Monday to the right.« Against high energy prices and »the simultaneous arrogance of traffic lights, democratic resistance is needed«.

Gysi told the editorial network Germany: "In addition, I will say something to the right, namely that our society must not tolerate all right-wing shit."
