A resident of Acre who attacked Jews in the "Guardian of the Walls" is accused of terrorism Israel today

The North District Prosecutor's Office (Criminal) submitted to the Haifa District Court an indictment against Iman Zalfi (29), a resident of Acre, for terroristic offenses of serious injury with aggravated intent, manufacturing weapons for the purpose of terrorism, rioting, and more.

This indictment is added to four indictments, against 6 defendants, in an attack on a citizen of Jewish origin in Acre in May 2021.

The event took place on May 12, 2021. During the violent events in the city of Acre that occurred during the "Guardian of the Walls" operation.

The investigation revealed that on the day of the incident, the victim, Mor Janashvili, drove his car from Haifa to Acre.

When he arrived in Acre near the Chabad square in the city, his path was blocked by trash cans thrown onto the road by rioters who rioted there.

The group of rioters, including the suspect, recognized his car as belonging to a Jew, partly because of the Israeli flags that were flying on the car, they started throwing stones and rocks at him and because of this the driver lost control of the car and hit a wall, which caused the car to stop.

The victim who got out of the vehicle was severely beaten by the rioters with stones and clubs while he tried to escape to a nearby street and the rioters followed him.

Later he was thrown to the ground where the rioters continued to beat him.

As a result, Moore was seriously injured.

That same day, the accused produced dozens of Molotov cocktails in order to throw them at Jews who would enter the Wolfson neighborhood.

Later, the defendant participated in violent riots in which he threw stones at police officers, broke street cameras, and warned rioters of the arrival of police officers when he climbed onto the roof of a building.

The indictment charges the defendant with the crimes of a terrorist act of aggravated assault with aggravated intent, manufacture of weapons for the purpose of terrorism, obstruction of justice, damage to property, damage to a racially motivated vehicle, obstructing a police officer under aggravated circumstances, and rioting.
