Still untraceable since the validation of his expulsion order, the Moroccan preacher would have set sail for Belgium. Asked by Le Parisien, his son does not believe it.

Under the influence of an expulsion order from the national territory validated Tuesday, August 30 by the Council of State, Imam Hassan Iquioussen remains untraceable.

If everything suggests that he has already left France on his own, probably to join Belgium, there is still doubt.

Asked by

Le Parisien

, the son of the 58-year-old preacher insists:

"My father went abroad, that's obvious!"

Maybe a way to cover the tracks, maybe not.

But the latter does not believe in the hypothesis of an exile in the Flat country.

"Belgium, that would surprise me!"

, he shouts.

The imam's house is however about twenty kilometers from the Belgian border, enough to motivate a flight in this direction.

Without forgetting that, in the past, Hassan Iquioussen regularly went beyond Quiévrain to give conferences there.

The son of the imam of the North prefers to keep the mystery on the point of fall of his father.

“Even if I knew it, I would not say it”

, he clearly eludes the regional daily.

And to remember that his father is

"polyglot"

, mastering, according to him,

"French, Spanish, Moroccan and Berber"

.

For her part, Hassan Iquioussen's lawyer, Me Lucie Simon, claims to have

"no news"

from her client.

Claiming not to know

“where he is”

, the latter refuses to enter

“in a manhunt”

.

The lawyer, however, wishes to recall that if the preacher left France, "

he executed the decision of removal

".

“It would be stupid and dangerous for him to come into contact with us, he would put us in difficulty”

Tuesday at the end of the day, several dozen police officers went to the home of the imam in Lourches (North), not far from Valenciennes, to arrest him, a few hours after the decision of the Council of State.

But the monk, on file S and reputed to be close to the Muslim Brotherhood, accused, among other things, of having made anti-Semitic remarks, had already left.

He was immediately added to the wanted persons file.

According to his son, who is currently

"in Brittany, in Rennes for work"

, Hassan Iquouissen would have slipped away from the vast family home, a former EDF building, a month ago.

“For a month, I have had no contact with him.

He's not in Lourches, he left his cell phone at home.

And it would be silly and dangerous for him to come into contact with us, he would put us in difficulty, ”

he explains to

Parisian

.

“What I feel bad about is being the son of someone who is said to be an Islamist, separatist, terrorist… I deeply believe that he is none of that,”

adds he, denouncing

"a big blow of com' from Gérald Darmanin"

.

On Tuesday evening, Morocco also suspended the consular pass (LPC) essential to allow the expulsion of Imam Iquioussen.

In other words, even if he is arrested, he could not, for the moment, join the Cherifian kingdom.
