Today (Thursday) the police filed a prosecutor's statement against the two residents of Wadi Ara who are suspected of kidnapping a 16-year-old minor and assaulting him with severe violence - including hitting him on the head with a blunt weapon - only because they suspected he was having a relationship with their relative.
A prosecutor's statement allows a suspect to be held in custody in the period after the end of the investigation, before an indictment is filed.
The investigation began on August 24 with the receipt of a report at Moked 100 about an ambiguous minor with partial recognition in Umm al-Fahm.
Police forces who were called to the scene located the minor and he was taken to the hospital in serious condition and needed surgery on his head.

In a preliminary investigation, he claimed that he was kidnapped by two suspects who took him to the woods, beat him with blows and a gunshot to the head, then left him wounded and bleeding and fled the scene.
A strenuous investigation that was conducted at the Umm al-Fahm police station, under the command of Corporal Dodi Atias, and included diverse investigative operations, led to the arrest of the two suspects, residents of the city in their 40s.
Their detention was extended from time to time at the Hadera Magistrate's Court and today, as mentioned, a prosecutor's statement was filed against them for possession of weapons, assault causing actual bodily harm and kidnapping.
The police intend to file charges against them in the coming days.
