Idlib Education Director Nader Abdo said in a statement to SANA reporter today, "This school year witnessed an increase in the number of schools in the liberated Idlib countryside, bringing the number to 103 schools, accommodating about 8000 students, in addition to the completion of the restoration and maintenance work of 8 schools to be put into service."

Pointing out that all school books were secured with the adoption of a plan for distribution to students by the directors of educational complexes.

In As-Suwayda, Director of Education Bassam Abu Mahmoud explained to SANA reporter that the directorate has completed the formation of teachers, teachers, specialist and educators, and the distribution of students, in addition to preparing schools, securing their supplies, following up on their maintenance and restoration work, implementing intensive courses for health supervisors, school health doctors, psychological and social counselors, continuing to rehabilitate teachers on modern curricula, and opening kindergartens. In turn, the head of the School Buildings Department, Eng. Diana Abu Ras, indicated that the department has completed contracts for the implementation of restoration works for six schools in the city of As-Suwayda to be ready with the beginning of the school year, with two schools under completion in Al-Majdal and Taara, in addition to completing the restoration of the Marwan Abu Saab School in the town of Al-Raha The restoration work of five other schools in different regions is to be started.

For his part, Director of the General Organization for Publications and School Books, Talal Al-Shoufi, pointed out that more than 90 percent of the textbooks have been secured and distributed as part of a plan to the sub-warehouses and surrounding schools within their geographical scope, while continuing to extract the remaining quantities from central warehouses during the coming days.

In Homs, Director of Education Walid Al-Marei told SANA reporter that all preparations and procedures had been completed to receive about 400,000 pupils and students in various stages of education, indicating that this year witnessed the opening of 18 schools with the maintenance of 335 schools, comprehensive and partial maintenance, at a cost of about 2 billion and 800 million pounds.

Al-Marei mentioned that this year 11 kindergarten divisions that are affiliated with the project will be opened in 7 schools to join the 64 opened divisions, indicating that the number of schools in Homs that have implemented the experimental curriculum for class B has reached six.

He pointed out that the implementation of the health protocol approved by the Ministry of Education was emphasized by distributing aid and health supervisors in the School Health Department to all schools in order to ensure the health safety of students and educational staff.
